The Sky Island Military is the defense force that helps maintain order on the Cloud Ocean. It consists of the Aeronautic Corps, the Ground Corps, and the Capital Guard. The head of the Sky Island Military is the Prime Minister of Sky Island, an elected official who acts as both the leader of the civilian government and the executor of the defense force. Because of the stable income and social mobility that a career in the military can offer, many of them come from lower income areas, like the Murk district of the capital.
